EURES and Polish department move to Borgartún 7B
EURES and the polish department has moved to Borgartún 7B, 105 Reykjavík. To respond to the increased demand for its services, the Directorate of Labour has opened a new employment service at Borgartún 7B. The following service is now situated in Borgartún; EURES European Employment Service, all service to non-Icelandic speaking job-seekers and beneficiaries and assistance to those who looking for jobs abroad.

Participants for new project wanted
W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland is looking for participants for an exciting project "Taktu Þátt!". The aim of the project is to enhance participation of foreign women in the Icelandic society and support their status in it. The project consists of 3 parts: workshops, documentary and final screening.
In the workshops will be taught how to write a CV in Icelandic, educational system in Iceland, project management and project preparation, self-empowerment together with visits to NGOs and interesting guests.
A short documentary will be made during the project and it will be screened at the end of the project. The project is for foreign women 18-30 years of age with some knowledge of Icelandic. Participation is free of charge. For more information ask Joanna in W.O.M.E.N. organisation:

The Health Center for uninsured has moved
The Intercultural Center wants to draw attention to the fact that Heilsuvernd, the health center for uninsured, has moved to Holtasmári 1 in Kópavogur. The new facilities are on the 7th floor of the Hjartavernd house in Holtasmári and the services have not change. Heilsuvernd’s phone number is 510 6500 and the website is www.hv.is.
Móðurmál lessons start again in 2009
Móðurmál has started lessons again in 2009. The main goal is giving bilingual children instruction in the second native language (other than Icelandic). For more information about dates and lessons offered see www.modurmal.com.
