The Intercultural Centre in Breiðholt opens
A new Intercultural Centre will open in Breiðholt on September 16th. The new centre will be in the Gerðuberg Cultural Centre. Kamilla Ingibergsdóttir has been hired as the project director. Activities will be community based projects and immigrants are encouraged to participate. The activities and projects of the centre will be a cooperative effort between local residents, institutions and associations. Some of the projects currently being organized are parents’ mornings, education and lessons and men’s football. Kamilla encourages everyone who wants to chip in and get involved or anyone who has a good idea to contact her at 575 7700 or to send an email to kamilla@ahus.is.

Open house for everyone who wants to help
Next Friday night 5. sept., 20:00 hrs we plan to meet in the basement of the Intercultural Centre, Laugavegur 37, to paint the walls and work together. Everyone who can come and wants to help is welcome. If you have some brushes or paint you want to use please bring it with you.
Remember to dress for dirty work.

International parents will meet weekly with their children during the spring of 2008. We welcome parents of all nationalities who have children at the age of 0-6 years, and who want to meet other parents with small children. We regularly offer a short Icelandic lesson for the parents and various other presentations. We provide refreshments along with toys for the children to play with. Salsaiceland.com is offering free salsa lessons tonight at Rex located in Austurstræti, starting at 20:00 until 21:00, the floor is then free for salsa lovers until 24:00.
