Open house on Friday

Kindness we share
During Reykjavík´s Winter Festival, we are going to celebrate kindness and friendship amongst each other. This festival will unite us all in kindness and friendship, we will provide support for each other and kindle the light in our hearts. This is a time to stand together and that is why it would be great for both Icelanders and people of foreign descent to join.
The festival will start on Austurvöllur Saturday February 14th at 18:00. A number of well known individuals will present beautiful thoughts concerned with the kindness and friendship that unites us all. Children from all over town prepare little hearts to be handed over the the Parliament. Then, we will join in a parade of love and friendship together with some great muscians playing our favourite love tunes. At the pond close to the City Hall, choirs will unite under the direction of Hörður Áskellsson and we will float candles and send positive waves to our society and all the people we love.
Our colour theme will be red, the colour of love. Everybody is encouraged to come in their national dress or wearing something red. Everybody is welcome.
