Advent Concert and Lighting of Christmas Trees

Tomorrow, the first Sunday in Advent, the Tónstofa Bell Choir conducted by Valgerdur Jónsdóttir will perform carols at the Reykjavík City Library branch at Hraunbaer 119 at 3 pm.

Tónstofa has received recognition for its pioneering music lessons for people with disabilities and an encouragement award from the Organization of the Disabled in Iceland for emphasizing equality, independence and participation for all members of society.

Warm apple glögg and gingerbread cookies will be served and all are welcome.

Today the Christmas trees in Akureyri and at the Reykjavík harbor will be lit (at 14:50 and 5 pm, respectively), and in Hafnarfjördur the local Christmas village will formally open with the lighting of the tree at 1 pm, while the Oslo tree on Austurvöllur parliamentary square in Reykjavík will be lit today at 4 pm.
