Meet Lithuania - Cultural Programme and Cinema Weekend

The weekend 6-8 March will be dedicated to Lithuanian culture and cinema. Along with musical performances, specialists in various fields will give talks on the rich history of the country and the ancient language spoken by Lithuanians. The event will take place in the National Museum, Saturday 7th March, 2pm.

Lithuanian culture will also be portrayed through films which will be shown in the Nordic House during the weekend. Each film will be introduced by Vaidas Jauniškis, film critic from Vilnius. Entrance is free and open to everyone. For further information see www.vigdis.hi.is. The programme is organised by The Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute of Foreign Languages in close cooperation with The Lithuanian - Icelandic Community and the Lithuanian Cultural Attaché for Iceland with support from the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania.

Open house on Friday

International „tapeo“ food-tasting night at the open house on Friday. Guests bring a simple and traditional dish from their home country. Don’t spend all day preparing but do try to bring something that is traditional. It starts at 20 and is in the Intercultural Centre’s basement (entrance from side alley).

Construction crane course in Polish

A course in Polish in conduct and treatment of construction cranes will be held on the 16th, 17th and 17th of March from 08.30-16.00. The course is held at Ökuskólinn í Mjódd, Þarabakki 3, 2nd floor, entrance on south side of building. Information and registration at 550 4600 at Vinnueftirlitið switchboard or gudrun@ver.is.
